A2OCA: Divine Liturgy for the Great Blessing of the Waters

a2ocacademy

On January 18th, our Catechism classes started up again for the winter 2023 when we learned about Jesus’s Baptism, also referred to as ‘Theophany’ (from the Greek word Θεοφάνεια, which means ‘manifestation of God’). It is the day when Jesus’s ministry not only begins, but, also, when all three Persons of the Holy Trinity are revealed to the worldFather, Son, and Holy Spirit.

During our January 18th Catechism lesson, we spoke about how Holy Water from the Great Blessing of Waters is used to bless our homes, so that we may help sanctify the spaces in which we labor to think, speak, and act as active Orthodox Christians in the life of the Church.

We feel fortunate to be able to offer the children in our community Catechism classes through which they can better know, love, and glorify our Triune God, and we thank you for your continued prayerful support of our mission!
